About the event
Who doesn’t want to add a little color to their jewelry, or maybe your own patterns and images? This class focuses on my method for drawing on metal with colored pencils. Learn to add color and excitement to your work with my special technique. In this 4-day class, you should finish at least one pendant and several sample pieces. Fabrication techniques will be covered as time allows. We will talk about design, layering color, blending color, shadows and highlights, and best finishing methods for your color work. All levels welcome!

ARTIST BIO
Deb Karash grew up in Rockford, Illinois, in a family of makers. Her interest in art started at a young age, when she started collecting antique jewelry at art festivals and auctions. She went on to get both Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees from Northern Illinois University. Deb now lives in the mountains of Western North Carolina where she has a studio in the beautiful city of Ashville. Her career includes doing craft shows, being a part time jeweler and full-time studio artist, to now spending most of her time teaching. Deb has been invited to teach her unique technique for applying bold color to metal at many of the finest jewelry programs in the country, as well as several international venues. In addition to her busy teaching schedule, Deb shows her work in selective exhibitions and is the inventor of two new tools for jewelers. As the granddaughter of a tool and die maker, perhaps that was inevitable.
